Neal Crowder
Truly a legend in his own time, Neal Crowder started working at Sparrows Point in 1938 and was one of the original organizers of the Steelworkers Union at Sparrows Point. When he retired after 42 years, including time in the Navy, he influenced the direction of Local 2609 and continues as an active member of the retirees association. Now living with his son in Elkton, Neal is a well-known speaker on steelworker history and affairs.
